The stated facts
| Company and underwriter, as the company states it | ManyPets (US). The company's US notice, dated November 8, 2024, says it is pausing new pet insurance sales and policy renewals in the U.S. and has partnered with Odie Pet Insurance to take over renewals. |
|---|---|
| Species covered | Dogs, Cats |
| Plan types offered | Accident and illness plan (US sales and renewals paused) |
| Accident waiting period, as stated | Not applicable to new buyers: ManyPets is not selling new US policies. Existing policyholders keep the terms printed in their current policy until renewal. |
| Illness waiting period, as stated | Not applicable to new buyers while US sales are paused; current policies follow their own declarations page. |
| Orthopedic, cruciate, and other special waiting periods | Not applicable to new buyers. Existing ManyPets policies keep their own terms until renewal moves them to Odie. |
| Eligibility, as the company states it | No new US enrollments. ManyPets' US transition notice says current policyholders stay covered until their next annual renewal date, when Odie Pet Insurance takes over as the provider. |
| Deductible, reimbursement, and limit options, as stated | None offered to new US customers. At renewal, Odie sets the terms and pricing, and ManyPets says policyholders are notified in advance so they can review them. |
| Wellness or preventive option | Not available to new US buyers. ManyPets says Odie will explain any changes to wellness plan options before a policyholder's renewal date. |
| Pre-existing condition rule, as stated | For policies moving at renewal, ManyPets says Odie will honor existing conditions covered under the ManyPets policy, so a condition already covered should stay covered after the switch. |
Status: ManyPets says it is pausing new US pet insurance sales and policy renewals, and that Odie takes over existing policies at their next annual renewal. Checked November 1, 2026.
ManyPets has stopped selling in the US
ManyPets' US notice, dated November 8, 2024 and still live on October 22, 2026, opens: "ManyPets is pausing new pet insurance sales and policy renewals in the U.S." The US homepage now shows a Transition to Odie link in its navigation. There is no ManyPets policy for a US breed owner to buy today, so this entry stays in the directory only to explain what happened.
For current ManyPets policyholders, the notice says coverage stays active until the next annual renewal, at which point Odie becomes the provider. Claims for past or ongoing treatment can still be filed with ManyPets up to the switch, and outstanding claims can be filed after the policy ends. ManyPets says Odie will carry over conditions already covered, which matters for a dog with an accepted cruciate or allergy claim. Before renewal, ask Odie to confirm in writing that each covered condition stays covered, and see the separate Odie entry for its terms.
