Plan comparison worksheet

Quotes only become comparable when the settings match. Enter each plan you are genuinely considering with the figures from its live quote: monthly premium, deductible, reimbursement percentage, and annual limit. The worksheet lines them up side by side and runs one example bill, yours, through every plan on the same arithmetic. No figures are invented here and none are supplied by us: every number in the results table is either yours or simple arithmetic on yours.

Your data never leaves your browser. This worksheet runs entirely on this page, sends nothing anywhere, and stores nothing.

Short answer: what this worksheet does

Enter the plans you are actually considering, using the premium, deductible, reimbursement percentage, and annual limit from each live quote, add one example bill, and the worksheet lines the plans up side by side on the same arithmetic. Every figure in the results is yours; this page supplies none. Start from the recorded company facts in the company directory, then get a live quote before deciding.

Enter one bill size to test every plan against, for example the cost of a cruciate surgery or an emergency stay from your breed profile. The same bill runs through each plan's deductible, reimbursement percentage, and annual limit.

How the example is worked: the bill minus the deductible, times the reimbursement percent, capped at the annual limit you entered. It assumes the bill is a covered expense, the full deductible is still unmet, and no earlier claim has used any of the annual limit. Real claims turn on the policy's definitions, so take the result back to the policy form.

How to use this worksheet well

Collect every quote on the same settings: the same deductible, the same reimbursement percentage, and the same annual limit. If one company cannot match a setting, note what it offered instead in that plan's notes field, next to its waiting periods and the clauses you checked in the coverage decoder. Take the example bill from your breed profile so the test matches your dog's actual risk, and run a second, smaller bill as well: a high deductible plan can look fine against a $5,000 emergency and poor against three $600 visits. When one plan leads, take its policy form back to the company directory facts and confirm the waiting periods and pre-existing rule in writing. Get a live quote before deciding.
